Availability of the Committee's Draft 2007 Integrated Energy Policy Report

Every two years, the Energy Commission is required to "conduct assessments and forecasts of all aspects of energy industry supply, production, transportation, delivery and distribution, demand, and prices. The Energy Commission shall use these assessments and forecasts to develop energy policies that conserve resources, protect the environment, ensure energy reliability, enhance the state's economy, and protect public health and safety." (Pub. Res. Code Section 25301(a))

The Committee's Draft 2007 IEPR is being prepared in response to that direction, and will be available no later than 10 days prior to the hearings on the Energy Commission's website at: http://www.energy.ca.gov/2007_energypolicy/documents/index.html.

Background

The Committee's Draft 2007 IEPR is based on an extensive record developed during the 2007 Integrated Energy Policy Report proceeding (Docket Number 06-IEP-1 and associated subdockets 06-IEP-1A to 06-IEP-1N). Beginning with the scoping hearing on May 12, 2006, the Committee has held more than 40 public workshops on a wide variety of energy-related policy topics. Numerous staff and consultant reports were released July 2006 through September 2007 documenting analyses of supply, demand, infrastructure and price-related information regarding the electricity, natural gas and transportation sectors. More than one hundred stakeholders and members of the public have provided input to staff's analyses, associated results and possible policy options to address issues identified in this proceeding. The Committee's Draft 2007 IEPR includes a summary of the key technical information that underlies important policy and program recommendations.

Staff and consultant reports, transcripts of the workshops and hearings, and other related materials produced during this proceeding can be found at: http://www.energy.ca.gov/2007_energypolicy/documents/index.html.
