Cost-Benefit Analysis of the Self-Generation Incentive
Program Consultant Report
Docket No. 08-IEP-1G SGIP

In support of the 2008 Integrated Energy Policy Report Update (2008 IEPR Update), the California Energy Commission has contracted with TIAX to conduct a Cost-Benefit Evaluation of the Self Generation Incentive Program.

Assembly Bill 2778 (Lieber, Chapter 617, Statutes of 2006) mandates that the Energy Commission provide a cost-benefit analysis on ratepayer subsidies for renewable and fossil fuel "ultraclean and low-emission distributed generation" on or before November 1, 2008 for inclusion in the Integrated Energy Policy Report. The report is to be prepared in consultation with the California Air Resources Board and the California Public Utilities Commission.

The findings and recommendations from the consultant's final report will be included in the 2008 IEPR Update.
