The California Energy Commission will conduct a workshop to commence the 2014 Integrated Energy Policy Report Update (2014 IEPR Update) which will be focused on transportation. The workshop will highlight the importance of making forward progress on reducing pollution from the transportation sector and include discussions on the role the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP) can play in helping to achieve this progress. The discussions will be concentrate on the recent passage of Assembly Bill 8 (Perea, Chapter 401, Statutes of 2013) which extends clean transportation investment programs such as the ARFVTP including how investment in clean transportation fits within the state's broader goals for climate, clean air, and energy security and the importance of incentives in helping speed the transition to a cleaner transportation sector.
Commissioner Janea A. Scott and Commissioner Karen Douglas will be in attendance. Commissioner Scott is the Lead Commissioner for the 2014 IEPR Update and the Lead Commissioner on Transportation. Commissioner Douglas is the Lead Commissioner on Siting. Other commissioners may attend and participate in the workshop.
