The California Independent Systems Operator (ISO), California Public Utilities Commission and California Energy Commission staff will conduct an energy storage roadmap workshop to review and solicit feedback from stakeholders on barriers facing energy storage in California.
September 4, 2014
10 am - 4:30 pm
250 Outcropping Way
Folsom, CA 95630
The California ISO, California Public Utilities Commission, and California Energy Commission are partnering to develop a joint energy storage roadmap that will advance California's energy storage. This roadmap will identify barriers and potential solutions with respect to policy, technology, and processes faced by the energy storage sector. It will also identify and suggest priorities for addressing issues, and note the appropriate venue to address them. This effort includes conducting surveys, individual stakeholder interviews, and collaborating with industry groups. This is not the forum to solve issues; however, it offers a way to document the scope and scale of what must be done to bring energy storage on line in California. Stakeholder participation is essential and will provide input to each agency's respective processes. The roadmap is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
The September 4 workshop seeks to better understand the barriers identified in the initial outreach and gather additional input and clarifications. This interactive workshop plays a critical role in mapping out the key building blocks required to facilitate energy storage in California.
Information about the workshop will be posted on the California ISO website as it becomes available. www.caiso.com/informed/Pages/CleanGrid/EnergyStorageRoadmap.aspx
The roadmap team invites stakeholders to communicate by e-mailing EnergyStorage@caiso.com
