California Energy Commission staff will hold a webinar regarding test procedures for commercial clothes dryers. Staff and stakeholders will provide updates on the test procedure development. Staff also seeks comment from interested parties regarding the test procedure. Attendees can participate remotely through a computer or telephone.
The staff webinar will be held:
Wednesday, January 24, 2018
The purpose of this webinar is for the Energy Commission to facilitate a discussion regarding a commercial clothes dryer test procedure and the process of developing a test procedure with stakeholders, including manufacturers, trade associations, energy efficiency advocates, and the California investor-owned utilities.
On March 14, 2012, the Energy Commission issued an Order Instituting Rulemaking (OIR) to formally begin the process of considering standards, test procedures, labeling requirements, and other efficiency measures for several appliances in a three-phase effort. The first phase of this OIR identified several products, including commercial clothes dryers. The Commission requested data and proposals on this product.
On August 3, 2017, the Energy Commission held a public workshop seeking comments from interested parties on the staff analysis regarding commercial clothes dryers and the proposed test procedure.
This webinar expands on the collaborative effort with stakeholders in the development and adoption of a commercial clothes dryer test procedure. It is important to the Energy Commission that input from stakeholders be considered throughout this process. Information received through this and subsequent forums will be used to formulate the commercial clothes dryer test procedure.
