This workshop will present initial findings and accept stakeholder feedback, comments, and suggestions for development of a roadmap of research for "Energy, Air Quality, Water and Climate Change Co-Benefits of Renewable Power Generation and Fuels." The Advanced Power and Energy Program (APEP) of the University of California, Irvine is working with the Energy Commission staff to develop a roadmap for research that will address the potential co-benefits and dis-benefits of renewable power and fuels on energy, air quality, water and climate change. The roadmap development is funded under Energy Commission Contract Number 500-10-040. This workshop provides an opportunity to provide input on the scope of the roadmap.
The workshop will cover topics such as technologies that have co-benefits, methodologies for co-benefits analyses, and research, development and demonstration (RD&D) needs. The focus of the workshop will be on reviewing the current state of knowledge, research gaps that have been identified, and receiving public comments on research gaps that need to be included in the roadmap. The roadmap will be used to identify potential areas of future research by the Energy Commission's Energy Research and Development Division.
