Open Examinations at the California Energy Commission
If you are not currently employed in the California State civil service and would like to apply for job vacancies with the California Energy Commission or any other State Agency you must first take and pass an open State examination.
Examinations are given both by the State Personnel Board (SPB) and by individual departments. The examination announcement will tell you where to apply.
Below is the California Energy Commission's current schedule for open exams.
OPEN EXAMINATION: Open to any person meeting the minimum qualifications described in the examination announcement.
Tip - Make sure you completely identify your experience and education that meets the minimum qualifications described in the examination bulletin, using similar phrases and language.
To apply to take an examination with the California Energy Commission, fill out the California Examination/Employment Standard State Application Form 678 available at the State Personnel Board website:

Eligible List Disclosure
The State Personnel Board posts all California Energy Commission open and promotional eligible lists on the State Personnel Board's website. Candidates will need their identification number, as ranks and scores are not identified by name for confidentiality reasons. Candidate identification numbers are displayed on all examination correspondence mailed from the Examination Unit.
