SBX1 1 allocates $3.4 million in funding annually to the Superintendent of Public Instruction (SPI) to implement and administer a grant program to fund clean energy partnership academies in public schools for grades 9-12. The partnership academies will focus on preparing students for careers in energy and water conservation, renewable energy, pollution reduction, and similar industries. The Energy Commission will develop guidelines to ensure academy programs receiving grant funding from the SPI align with current energy policies and priorities and provide skills and education linked to the needs of the clean energy industries.
