Instruction details: The curriculum addresses core skills that employers have indicated they need including: project management, integrated design for green buildings, financial incentives for green structures, marketing green products, strategies to reduce carbon footprint and green sustainability practices.
Result of classes: This training emphasizes green/clean skills that will prepare trainees for an industry-approved certification such as LEED or Building Performance Institute (BPI).
More about the organization: The District was founded in 1961 and serves the San Francisco East Bay Area, particularly southern Alameda County, through its two colleges: Chabot College in Hayward and Las Positas College in Livermore. Both colleges specialize in university transfer, technical training, continuing education, workforce development, and contract education with local businesses. The District serves nearly 24,000 students and a seven-member Board of Trustees is elected by the registered voters of nine communities: Livermore, Dublin, Pleasanton, Sunol, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, Hayward, and Union City, to set policy.
