The Energy Commission's Docket Unit is the repository for official records of all Commission rule making and regulatory proceedings, including certification of energy facilities. Upon request, the unit provides copies of docketed materials at a nominal charge when such documents are not available from the Energy Commission Library or the Publications Unit. In certain instances, copies of docketed material also are available at selected libraries throughout California and in communities affected by the proposed facility.
Dockets is a unit of the Energy Comission's Chief Counsel's Office.

- Applications to keep documents confidential
If a document submitted to the Energy Commission is to be kept confidential, an application must be filed. Applications to keep a record confidential and the material to be kept confidential should be separately submitted directly to the Docket Unit in paper form or on electronic media, but not by email. An application form and instructions are available at: http://www.energy.ca.gov/commission/chief_counsel/documents/CEC13.pdf. The form is optional, but using it will ensure all required information is provided.
Applications and associated documents related to power plant licensing proceedings must be uploaded directly to Dockets through the e-filing system. Paper copies or CDs do not need to be submitted. Links to the e-filing system are provided on each siting project's Commission webpage.
The Commission's Dockets customer-service window has moved!
The Commission's Dockets customer-service window for accepting documents for docketing in Commission proceedings has moved to the 2nd Floor, North. The complete street address is 1516 Ninth Street, Sacramento, CA, 95814.
This move provides more convenient public access to the Dockets window, and is part of a larger on-going effort to improve the Commission's filing and records management practices. All other Docket functions are unchanged.
