PIER PROGRAM AREA NOTICES
Notice Regarding the Environmental Subject Area
In
accordance with the procedures described in the "Public
Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program Sole and Single
Source Contracting Procedures," the Environmental subject
area has imposed a blackout period on unsolicited proposals,
effective close of business on August 4, 2000. The blackout
will be in effect through June 30, 2001. This blackout
period applies to all projects/programs within the
Environmental subject area. During this time frame,
unsolicited proposals will not be accepted from any party,
including state and federal agencies. The reason for this
blackout is so that staff can focus their efforts on
intensive program planning. This planning effort will result
in a long-term (at least five years) Environmental Plan
which will guide future Research, Development and
Demonstration initiatives in the PIER Environmental Area.
Proposals received by the California Energy Commission
and logged in by the Contracts Officer before the blackout
period was imposed will continue to be evaluated according
to the PIER Program Sole and Single Source Contracting
Procedure.

Notice Regarding Environmentally Preferred Advanced Generation Area (EPAG)
In
accordance with the procedures described in the "Public
Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program Sole and Single
Source Contracting Procedures," the EPAG Area has imposed a
blackout period on unsolicited proposals, effective close of
business on December 31, 2000. A solicitation focusing on
fuel cells, microturbines, hybrids, and reciprocating
engines will be issued in the first quarter of 2001. The
blackout period will be in effect through June 30, 2001,
and may be extended. This blackout period applies to all
projects/programs within this subject area. During this
time frame, unsolicited proposals will not be accepted from
any party, including state and federal agencies.
Proposals received by the California Energy Commission
and logged in by the Contracts Officer before the blackout
period was imposed will continue to be evaluated according
to the PIER Program Sole and Single Source Contracting
Procedures.
Notice Regarding Renewables Area
In
accordance with the procedures described in the "Public
Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program Sole and Single
Source Contracting Procedures," the Renewables Area has
imposed a blackout period on unsolicited proposals. The
blackout period will be in effect through June 30, 2001 and
may be extended. This blackout period applies to all
projects/programs within this subject area. During this time
frame, unsolicited proposals will not be accepted from any
party, including state and federal agencies.

In accordance with the procedures described in
the "Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program Sole and
Single Source Contracting Procedures," the
Industrial/Agriculture/Water Subject Area has imposed a
blackout period on unsolicited proposals, effective close of
business on December 31, 2000. The blackout period will be
in effect through June 30, 2001, and may be extended. This
blackout period applies to all projects/programs within this
subject area. During this time frame, unsolicited proposals
will not be accepted from any party, including state and
federal agencies.
