    Natural gas, 60 kW IC engine packaged with heat recovery

    Overview

    The high-rise building at 1080 Chestnut Street in San Francisco added a 60 kW natural gas-fired cogeneration system in 1988. The system has produced over $40,000 in annual savings since its installation. Along with the 60 kW of electricity, the unit produces 440,000 Btu/hour of hot water. The system has also proven its reliability having been in operation since 1988.
