    3132 solar panels
    50,000 square feet

    Overview

The State reviewed options for sustainable design and decided on a rooftop solar electric generation system at the Franchise Tax Board Central Office facility. The system especially helps reduce peak electric demand charges. The resulting system is a 470 kW solar system covering 50,000 square feet. The electrical system output is approximately 565,000 kWh/year. The array is made up of 3132 individual solar panels. The project was completed in August 2002.
