Equipment Certification
As of 12/2008 the Energy Commission is no longer tracking the certification of equipment for Rule 21. The Energy Commission has completed the key research set out for rule 21, hence the remaining issues to be dealt with are regulatory in nature, and therefore more clearly within the jurisdiction of the California Public Utilities Commission. Please note: this form is dated March 2002 and does not address newer Rule
21 testing requirements (IEEE 1547.1-2005 and UL 1741). Until a revised
version is prepared by the Rule 21 Work Group, this form may be modified by
the testing laboratory as needed to summarize the relevant results.

The following equipment has been tested by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory as having met the Type Testing and Production Testing requirements of California Rule 21. Please note that the use of Certified Equipment is not a requirement for interconnection in California but intended to simplify the interconnection approval process.

Utility Interconnection Equipment Certification

Note: This Certification is only for the "Grid Interactive" mode of operation of the controller, not the "Stand Alone" mode. Interlocks and operation in Stand Alone mode shall be approved by the interconnecting utility.
