Energy policy begins at the highest level of government with the release of the President's energy policy, and continues through federal and state legislation as well as local policy. Other regulatory agencies provide policy guidelines and provide assistance to the government process. Often industrial trade organizations will work with the regulatory agencies and the government to promote policy development and implementation that supports DER equipment.
