Committee Overseeing this Proceeding:

JOHN L. GEESMAN, Commissioner
Associate Member
This proceeding is the formal rulemaking phase to establish regulations to implement the Energy Commission's responsibilities regarding the California Climate Action Registry. The registry is a non-profit public corporation that records greenhouse gas emissions inventories that California entities voluntarily report to the Registry, which was established by SB 1771.
The rulemaking shall establish processes to identify and qualify third-party organizations that the state approves to provide technical assistance and advice and/or certify the emission results of entities that participate in the Registry.
The Energy Commission encourages full and free public participation. Petitions to intervene are not necessary. Any person present at any hearing or workshop shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to make oral comments on the subject matter of the proceeding.
For current rulemaking documents, please see the Documents, Reports, and Public Comments page.
