Energy Commission Staff Report On The
Supply and Cost of Alternatives to MTBE In Gasoline


The California Energy Commission’s Fuels and Transportation Committee will conduct a public hearing to discuss the methodology and findings of the staff report Supply and Cost of Alternatives to MTBE in Gasoline. The report examines the possible options of replacing the use of Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) with another oxygenate, and the resulting impacts on the supply, production and price of gasoline to California consumers.

The report, as directed by the California State Legislature, evaluates:

This hearing will be open to the public. The Committee invites participants to present any comments, questions or concerns on these topics either orally or in writing at the hearing.
