REVISED REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
Re: Notice of New Petroleum Industry Information Reporting Act Requirements
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter serves as notice that new Petroleum Industry Information Reporting Act (PIIRA) reporting requirements may apply to your company. As of February 3, 2006, new PIIRA reporting requirements took effect. If your company is subject to the new regulations, you must begin submitting reports beginning 30 days after the date of this letter.
The new PIIRA reporting instructions and the reporting forms have been posted on the California Energy Commission website at [www.energy.ca.gov/piira/]. There is a table in the instructions that indicates which forms are required for each specific type of company. Please verify whether your company meets the threshold for these reporting requirements.
The California Energy Commission currently collects data on the production, inventories, and distribution of petroleum products under the provisions set forth under PIIRA. The authority to collect this data is set forth in the California Code of Regulations, title 20, sections 1361 et seq.
If you feel that your company is not required to report, please contact one of the Energy Commission employees listed below to confirm the non-applicability. In addition, if you have any difficulty viewing or downloading the instructions or forms, please contact the staff.
