The goal of the 2006 Symposium was to present Microgrid research and results from early demonstrations, as well as to identify key technical and policy issues that must be addressed by future research. Speakers from around the world presented their work and provided summaries of the state of research from Japan, Europe, the United States and Canada.
The symposium helps encourage discussion on current knowledge, research priorities and gaps. The symposium will favour an effective exchange and international collaborations with experts to address multi-disciplinary issues and foster discussion between research, demonstration, results, lessons learned to date and market/economic implementation issues.
The Symposium is organized by the CANMET Energy Technology Centre - Varennes in collaboration with the Lawrence-Berkley National Laboratory and the Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) program of the California Energy Commission.
