The PIER EPAG Program has coordinated numerous funding solicitations in the past and plans on offering more in the future because a September 2000 law extended program funding to 2011.

Past Solicitations

• Late 2003
  Focused Solicitation:
  Combined heat and power research, development and demonstration projects.


• Late 2001
  Focused Solicitation:
  Advanced reciprocating internal combustion engine (ARICE) systems.


• Early 2001
  Focused Solicitation:
  Fuel cells, micro and small turbines, fuel cell/turbine hybrid systems, and related technologies.


• Mid 2000
  Staff-Generated & Sole Source Projects:
  Funding of specific projects relating to micro and small turbines and low NOx gas turbine combustors.


• Early 1998
  Second General Solicitation:
  Providing funding for a wide range of EPAG research projects.


• Late 1997
  Transition Funding Solicitation:
  Targeting utility R&D projects not completed when deregulation caused utilities to stop their R&D programs.
