Notice of Staff Workshop on Research Needs for Future Building Efficiency Standards

The California Energy Commission's Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) program will conduct a workshop to identify and prioritize research topics appropriate for the advancement of California's Title-24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards.

The PIER Buildings Efficiency Program staff will conduct this workshop to identify research topics for consideration. The information gathered at the workshop will help the PIER Buildings Efficiency Program develop plans to fund research that will support the development of future Title-24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards. The workshop will be organized as follows: Residential Standards Research Needs: 9am-12 noon Nonresidential Standards Research Needs: 1pm-4pm A more detailed agenda will be developed prior to the workshop and posted on the Energy Commission website.


The PIER Buildings Efficiency Program conducts public interest energy efficiency research for both new and existing buildings in both the residential and the non-residential sectors. The program seeks to decrease building energy use through research that will develop or improve energy efficient technologies, strategies, and tools.
