Alana Mathews
Public Adviser, California Energy Commission
Alana Mathews was appointed Public Adviser at the California Energy Commission in June of 2013. She had been a senior attorney at the Commission since 2012 working on siting, transactional, and litigation matters. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Mathews was a Deputy District Attorney for the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office from 2004 to 2012 and an executive fellow at the California Attorney General's Office from 2003 to 2004.
She is a board member of the Sacramento County Bar Association, a member of the Anthony M. Kennedy American Inn of Court, the Wiley W. Manuel Bar Association and a 2013 Fellow for the Leadership California Program.
She earned a Master of Law degree in governmental affairs and public policy and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from Spelman College.
