Biography
Elena Miller was appointed Public Adviser by Governor Schwarzenegger in June 2008. Since March 2008, she served as Staff Counsel for the Office of Chief Counsel at the California Energy Commission. Prior to joining the Commission, Ms. Miller worked on employment litigation matters as Staff Counsel at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. She has worked as a sole practitioner for pro bono clients on land disputes, and represented the interests of litigants while an associate at the Law Office of Thomas H. Edwards. Ms. Miller graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in 1999 while working as a Senior Paralegal for Atlantic Richfield Company and ARCO Latin America in Venezuela. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Davis in Political Science. Her undergraduate work included student positions at the Advocacy Institute in Washington, D.C. and the Geothermal Resources Council in Davis, California. Spanish is Ms. Miller's second language, which has afforded her opportunities to study and work in Central and South America. |
