APPLIANCE REBATE PROGRAM
REMINDER - Workshop on the Proposed Appliance Rebate GuidelinesNovember 19, 2009 Workshop - 10 a.m. - California Energy Commission to discuss the State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program guidelines. For those who cannot attend the November 19 workshop at the Energy Commission building, the presentations and audio from the meeting will be broadcast by WebEx conferencing. BLOCK GRANT and SEP UPDATES
SEP SOLICITATIONS - DUE DATE EXTENDEDThe due dates for the three State Energy Program competitive solicitations totaling up to $95 million in ARRA funds has been extended to December 21, 2009. Local jurisdictions, non-profits or private organizations are encouraged to submit their proposals for the Municipal Financing Program ("AB 811-type programs"), the California Comprehensive Residential Building Retrofit Program, and the Municipal and Commercial Building Targeted Measure Retrofit Program. Applications for block grants are available on-line at the Energy Commission's webpage www.energy.ca.gov/contracts/recovery.html#eecbg. Eligible small cities and counties have until January 12, 2010, to apply for their ARRA funds.
Current State Controller's Compliance Report On-Line
The most current State Controller's Office (SCO) Compliance Report is available on-line. The SCO categorizes local governments into either exempt, no review or accepted. To receive ARRA funds, make certain you are in compliance with the Single Audit Act

ARRA FUNDING
Geothermal Energy Project Funding Available. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced up to $338 million to accelerate Domestic Geothermal Energy project deployment, technology development, and data collection. The projects selected for negotiation of awards fall into six categories:
- Innovative Exploration and Drilling Projects (up to $98.1 million)
- Coproduced, Geopressured, and Low Temperature Projects (up to $20.7 million)
- Enhanced Geothermal Systems Demonstrations (up to $51.4 million)
- Enhanced Geothermal Systems Components Research and Development / Analysis (up to $81.5 million)
- Geothermal Data Development, Collection and Maintenance (up to $24.6 million)
- Ground Source Heat Pump Demonstrations (up to $61.9 million)
