****************************************************************** NEWS RELEASES FROM THE CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION ****************************************************************** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For more information contact: June 28, 1995 Percy Della - 916-654-5027 ENERGY EXPORT DIRECTORY NOW AVAILABLE The California Energy Commission has released its yearly listing of California-based companies interested in exporting energy related goods and services. The 1995 Energy Technology Export Directory, produced by the Commission's Technology Export Program, contains the names of 645 firms and a brief description of their energy products and services available to the international marketplace. California represents 20 percent to 88 percent of the U.S. energy industry for a wide range of oil, power generation and energy efficiency technologies. The directory is distributed by the export program staff to potential international customers and other interested parties. It is often requested by foreign delegations taking part in reverse trade missions and briefings organized by the Commission to introduce the state's energy technology companies to potential overseas buyers. Since 1988, the Commission has helped generate nearly $330 million in export sales for California energy companies by linking them with developing countries familiar with the state's experience in developing diverse and indigenous energy resources, and its success in improving energy efficiency and use of clean combustion technologies. Highlights of the directory, the fifth produced by the Commission in as many years, include a matrix that identifies each company's technology or service and an individual technology matrix listing the types of products and services offered by companies involved in that technology. Companies listed cover the whole spectrum of the state's energy business: energy conservation and environmental managers, engineers and consultants; hydroelectric and biomass energy producers; oil, coal and gas explorers; and manufacturers and designers of electric cars and of alternative energy technologies such as photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind and geothermal.
