Water Technologies Workshop for NOx Reduction



The California Energy Commission is pleased to announce a Water Technologies Workshop for Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles to be held:


April 9, 1996, 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This Workshop will investigate water technologies used for developing and implementing near-term NOx emission reduction technologies for mobile sources. NOx emission reduction from medium- and heavy-duty vehicles are the focus of California's State Implementation Plan (SIP) to achieve ambient air quality standards by 2005. Several researchers and developers are exploring in-cylinder and post-combustion NOx control strategies to achieve NOx reduction goals. Water technologies as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and retrofit technology are among the NOx reduction approaches being studied because they have immediate potential as a low-cost NOx reduction option.

The Energy Commission proposes to build on the results of previous water technology studies through a cooperative effort with stakeholders to develop medium- and heavy-duty vehicle water technologies for possible near-term retrofit and OEM commercial application. The stakeholders group will identify barriers and opportunities for water technologies.

The Workshop registration fee is $50 per person. The Commission will only accept a cashiers check or money order, drawn against a U.S. bank, payable to the California Energy Commission.
