California's Second Annual Clean Power Day
May 19, 1997



What:

California's second annual Clean Power Day will highlight renewable energy and energy efficiency. The day's activities will feature exciting exhibits, including imposing hardware of solar, wind and photovoltaic energy. There will be a noon press event for clean power choices in a restructured electricity market and mid-day entertainment highlighted by solar-powered music of the Rick Lotter Jazz Ensemble.


When:

9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday, May 19, 1997


Where:

L Street side of the State Capitol Grounds, Sacramento, California


Who:

Representatives of California's clean energy companies will showcase cutting-edge technologies in energy efficiency and in wind, solar, geotheral, biomass, and fuel-cell energy. Consumers can learn firsthand about the generation of electricity from clean sources and meet with those companies that will soon provide "green" electricity to consumers beginning January of next year.

About 35 sponsors so far are participating in Clean Power Day 97. Why:

Clean Power Day 97 is held to emphasize the benefits of alternative energy production, including jobs, cleaner air and a more secure and efficient energy resources as California enters the competitive electrity market on January 1, 1998.
