Workshop Tackles Overseas
Financing of Energy Projects



9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 1997 -- The California Energy Commission holds a free workshop on project financing for prospective developers and financiers of energy projects aboard.

The workshop's agenda will include panel discussions to identify and finance small to mid-sized projects in the $100 million or less range, compare business opportunities in international and domestic markets and address the current and future needs of project developers. The Commission's Energy Technology Export Program will discuss its role in enhancing the competitive position of California energy companies overseas and distribute a draft financing handbook. The handbook is being developed by the export staff to help California companies secure international project financing.
