On January 21, 1999, the Energy Commission staff published a Staff Assessment on the project. The document contains staff's findings and recommendations based on information received to date. Three public workshops on the Staff Assessment will be held:

On Wednesday, February 3, 1999, the staff will discuss findings and recommendations for air quality, hazardous materials handling, water resources, biological resources and cultural resources.

The proposed project is to be located in the northeast corner of the Southern California International Airport (formerly George Air Force Base), in the city of Victorville, San Bernardino County.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions during the workshop.
