Energy Commission Schedules Informational Hearing,
Site Visit to Proposed Three Mountain Power Project
On Monday, August 16, 1999, members of the public and other interested parties can learn about the Three Mountain Power Project, a 500-megawatt natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant proposed by Three Mountain Power, LLC (Ogden Pacific Power), to be constructed one mile northwest of Burney in Shasta County.
The proposed project would be comprised of two gas-fired turbine generators, one or more steam turbines and support equipment. If approved for construction and operation, the power plant would be built adjacent to an existing 10-megawatt waste wood-fueled power plant. The project would connect to existing 230 kilovolt Pacific Gas and Electric transmission lines located near the project site.
What: Informational Hearing and Site Visit Who: The hearing is an open meeting where interested members of the public are welcome to participate and ask questions about the project. When: Monday, August 16, 1999, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Where: Lions Hall

The Informational Hearing will convene at 5:00 p.m. and then recess to allow for a site visit during daylight hours. Bus transportation to the site will leave from the Lions Hall at 5:30 p.m. Following the Site Visit, the buses will return to the Lions Hall, and the Informational Hearing will reconvene at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Persons planning to go to the site visit should make a reservation with the Commission's Public Adviser, Roberta Mendonca, at (916) 654-4489, toll-free, at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, August 13, 1999.
Ms. Mendonca will also be present at the hearing and site visit to assist interested individuals or organizations and to provide information on participating in the Commission's certification process.
