Informational Hearing and Site Visit to
Proposed Contra Costa Power Project


Sacramento - On Monday, June 12, 2000, members of the public and other interested parties will have an opportunity to learn more about the Southern Company's proposed Contra Costa Power Project, a 530-megawatt power plant. The project would be constructed and operated within the existing Contra Costa Power Plant complex in Contra Costa County, north of the City of Antioch.

The Informational Hearing and Site Visit are the initial steps in the Energy Commission's 12-month power plant review process of all relevant environmental and engineering aspects of the proposed project.

What: Informational Hearing and Site Visit
Who: The hearing is an open meeting in which members of the general public, landowners, and government representatives will have an opportunity to participate and ask questions.
When: Monday, June 12, 2000
Beginning at 3 p.m.
The Informational Hearing will recess at 4:30 p.m. to allow for a site visit. The hearing will reconvene at 6 p.m.
Where: Delta Diablo Sanitation District Board Room

Antioch, California

Bus transportation for the site visit will be provided from the hearing location. Personal cars will not be allowed. The public is invited to participate in this tour.
