If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.
California Energy Commission staff will conduct a data request workshop to discuss the proposed Nueva Azalea Power Plant Project as follows:
WEDNESDAY, October 18, 2000
6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
City of South Gate Girls Clubhouse
4940 Southern Avenue
South Gate, California
The purpose of this workshop is to enable the applicant to discuss the responses to data requests from the Energy Commission staff related to the Application for Certification process. The topics of discussion will include, but not be limited to: air quality; cultural resources; land use; public health; socioeconomics; transmission systems engineering; visual resources; and waste management.
The applicant, EM-One Power Station LLC, is proposing to construct the Nueva Azalea Power Plant Project, a 550-megawatt, natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant on a 13.5-acre site in the City of South Gate at the eastern edge of the city limits. The site is bound by Southern Avenue on the north, East Frontage Road of the 710 Interstate Freeway on the west, Garfield Avenue and Miller Way on the east, and other developed industrial properties on portions of the south, east and west.
The public is encouraged to participate and will have the opportunity to provide comments and ask questions during the workshop. Persons requiring information on how to participate in the Energy CommissionŐs review of the proposed project should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Energy CommissionŐs Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489 or toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at email@example.com.
