Energy Commission Considers Interlocutory Appeal in
Otay Mesa Power Plant Licensing Case

At its upcoming Business Meeting, the California Energy Commission will consider an Interlocutory Appeal recently filed by Attorney Gene Varanini on behalf of Cabrillo Power. The appeal concerns on-going proceedings to license the proposed Otay Mesa Power Plant.

The Otay Mesa Generating Company, LLC proposes to construct and operate a 510-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined cycle power plant to be located in the east Otay Mesa region of western San Diego County. The site for the project is located northeast of the intersection of Otay Mesa and Alta Roads; approximately 15 miles southeast of San Diego and 1.5 miles north of the U.S./Mexico border.
