Community Calendar Announcement

December 8, 2000

Dear Editor/Publisher:

If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.

The staff of the California Energy Commission will hold a data response/data request workshop on the proposed Potrero Power Plant Project as follows:

2:00 p.m. - ending no later than 9:00 p.m.,
with a one hour supper break at about 5:00 p.m.

Potrero Hill Neighborhood House Auditorium
953 De Haro Street
San Francisco, California
The location is wheelchair accessible.

This workshop will provide a chance to discuss the applicant's data responses to the staff's first set of data requests. It will also allow the applicant to ask clarifying questions of the staff about the second set of data requests.

Southern Energy Delta LLC proposes to develop the Potrero Power Plant Unit #7 Project, a 530-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined cycle power plant. The proposed site is at the existing Potrero Power Plant site, formerly owned by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, which is located in the Potrero District of the City and County of San Francisco. Unit 7 will be an addition to the site's existing Units 4, 5 and 6 which are 52-megawatt "peaker" units, and Unit 3 which is a 206-megawatt steam turbine.

Members of the public and interested agencies are invited to participate in the workshop. Time will be reserved to allow members of the public to comment. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Commission's Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at
