Energy Commission Schedules Informational Hearing
and Site Visit to Proposed East Altamont Power Project

Sacramento - On Thursday, August 9, 2001, members of the public and other interested parties will have an opportunity to learn more about a 1,100-megawatt power plant proposed by East Altamont Energy Center, LLC.

If approved, the East Altamont Energy Center would be located on 55 acres of a 174-acre parcel in northeastern Alameda County, with the remainder of the land available for agricultural lease. The proposed project would be a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle facility.
