Energy Commission Schedules Informational Hearing and
Site Visit to Proposed Cosumnes Power Plant
Sacramento -- On Wednesday, December 19, members of the public and other interested parties will have an opportunity to learn more about a
1000-megawatt power plant proposed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.
If approved, the SMUD Cosumnes power plant would be located near the former Rancho Seco Nuclear Plant, 25 miles southeast of the City of Sacramento, in Sacramento County on a 30-acre portion of an overall 2,480-acre site owned by SMUD. The proposed project would be a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle facility.

The information hearing will follow the site visit. Bus transportation will be provided to the site. Land owners, members of the public, and governmental agencies are invited to participate.
