If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.
Energy Commission staff will conduct an issues resolution workshop to discuss the proposed East Altamont Energy Center as follows:
TUESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2002
Noon - 7 p.m.
Elks Lodge #2031
6400 East 11th Street
The workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss opportunities for the design of a landscaping plan that would adequately screen the power plant while responding to concerns about the potential for trees and shrubs to adversely affect sensitive species of wildlife.
The East Altamont Energy Center, proposed by East Altamont Energy Center LLC, would be a 1,100-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined cycle facility, built on a 174-acre parcel located approximately 1 mile west of the San Joaquin County line and 1 mile southeast of the Contra Costa County line.
Members of the public and interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Time will be reserved to allow members of the public to comment. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Commission's Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
