If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following hearings.
Energy Commission staff will conduct a data response and issues resolution workshop to discuss the proposed Central Valley Energy Center as follows:
THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 2002
Beginning at 4 p.m.
San Joaquin Community Center
22058 Railroad Avenue
San Joaquin, California
During the workshop staff will discuss the applicant's data responses in technical areas that include air quality, biological resources, and visual resources. The workshop will also give staff an opportunity to resolve all outstanding issues.
The Central Valley Energy Center, proposed by Calpine, would be a 1,060-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined-cycle electric generating facility located on an 85-acre parcel in Fresno County near the Mendota Wildlife Management Area and the Fresno-Clovis Wastewater Treatment Facility.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions during the workshop. Persons requiring information on how to participate in the Energy Commission's review of the proposed project should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Energy Commission's Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489 or toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
