Energy Commission Schedules Informational Hearing and Site Visit to Proposed Palomar Energy Center

Sacramento - On Thursday, March 21, members of the public and other interested parties will have an opportunity to learn more about a 500-megawatt power plant proposed by Sempra Energy Resources.

Scheduled to be online by the summer of 2004, the Palomar Energy Center project consists of a natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant. If approved, the facility would be constructed on a 20-acre site within the Escondido Research and Technology Center industrial park located west of Interstate 15 and south of State Highway 78.

What: Informational Hearing and Site Visit
When: Thursday, March 21, 2002
Site Visit Beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Informational Hearing Beginning at 6 p.m.
Where: California Center for the Arts
340 North Escondido Boulevard
Escondido, California

Bus transportation will be provided from the Center for the Arts parking lot to the site. Land owners, members of the public, and governmental agencies are invited to participate.
