Workshop Tackles Overseas Financing of Energy Projects
Sacramento - The California Energy Commission will hold a workshop in
San Francisco on April 18 for prospective developers and financiers of
energy projects abroad.
California Treasurer Phil Angelides and California Energy Commissioner
Robert A. Laurie will address the conference at the Pan Pacific Hotel.
Among the resource speakers are entrepreneurs who have experience
developing and financing energy projects overseas, as well as commercial
bankers and equity fund investors who can provide capital of up to $100
million.
The workshop will enable participants to learn more about the explosive
demand for energy projects, small power plants and energy efficiency
improvements in developing countries. Such projects that bring reliable
power, cleaner sources of electricity and efficiency in manufacturing
have created a market niche requiring specialized financing.
Resource speakers will share their perspectives on issues relating to
the structuring of project financing, energy efficiency market
development in the emerging economies of Latin America and Central and
Eastern Europe, and pool financing programs in several developing
countries.
Prospective conference participants should call or e-mail Tambu Kisoki
