Energy Commission staff will conduct a project status hearing and issue
resolution workshop to discuss the proposed SMUD Consumnes Power Plant

The hearing is being held to review the following: the status of the
hearing, objections or any pending motion to compel responses to data
requests, the timeliness of Applicant data submissions, and the schedule
for the remainder of the Application for Certification proceeding. The
purpose of the workshop is to discuss the Applicant's data responses on
waste management issues.
The Consumnes Power Plant, proposed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility
District (SMUD), would be a 1,000-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined
cycle power plant located near the former Rancho Seco Nuclear Plant, 25
miles southeast of the City of Sacramento, in Sacramento County. Members
of the public and interested agencies are invited to participate and
provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to
