Dear Editor/Publisher:
If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of
community events, you may want to include news of the following hearing.
The Committee overseeing the Application for Certification for the
proposed Los Esteros Critical Energy Facility will hold an evidentiary
hearing as follows:
MONDAY, MAY 20, 2002
Beginning at 9 a.m.
First Floor Hearing Room A
California Energy Commission
1516 Ninth Street
Sacramento, California
(Wheelchair Accessible)
-or-
Teleconference: 1-888-970-4133
Passcode: Los Esteros
Evidentiary hearings are held to establish the factual record necessary
to reach a decision in this case. This is accomplished by taking oral,
written, or documentary evidence from the parties. Formal evidentiary
hearings are more structured than Committee conferences or staff
workshops.
Proposed by Calpine, the Los Esteros Critical Energy Facility would be a
180Ğmegawatt, natural gas-fired, simple cycle power plant located on
15-acres in north San Jose at Elviso-Milpitas Road within Santa Clara
County.
Members of the public are encouraged to participate and will have the
opportunity to comment and ask clarifying questions on any of the
subjects. For more information on how to participate, contact the Energy
Commission's Public Adviser, Roberta Mendonca, at (916) 654-4489, toll
free at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at pao@energy.state.ca.us.

project at:
