If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of
community events, you may want to include news of the following hearing.
California Energy Commission staff will conduct a noise and visual issues workshop to discuss the proposed El Segundo Power Redevelopment Project as follows:
WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 2002
Beginning at 4 p.m.
El Segundo City Hall
350 Main Street
El Segundo, California
This workshop will give staff an opportunity to take public, intervenor's, and the applicant's oral and written comments on noise and visual issues.
EL Segundo Power II LLC is seeking approval to replace the existing El Segundo Generating Station Units 1 and 2 in the City of El Segundo with a natural gas-fired combined cycle electric generation facility. The existing Units 3 and 4 located adjacent to Units 1 and 2 will not be modified by this project. The new combined cycle facility is expected to generate 630 megawatts under nominal conditions. This is 280 megawatts more than the old Units 1 and 2 were capable of generating when operating.
The public is encouraged to participate and will have the opportunity to provide comments and ask questions during the hearing. Persons requiring information on how to participate in the Energy Commission's review of the proposed project should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Energy Commission's Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489 or toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
