July 24, 2002
If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.
Energy Commission staff will conduct a workshop to discuss the proposed San Joaquin Valley Energy Center as follows:
TUESDAY, JULY 30, 2002
4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
San Joaquin Community Center
22058 Railroad Avenue
San Joaquin, California
This workshop is being held so that Staff may receive comments on the recently released Staff Assessment and to discuss the following topics: air quality, land use, noise, and visual resources.
The project, planned by Calpine, would be a 1,060-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined-cycle facility. The site is located on an 85-acre parcel in the city of San Joaquin in Fresno County near the Mendota Wildlife Management Area.
Members of the public and interested agencies are invited to participate in the workshop. Time will be reserved to allow members of the public to comment. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Commission's Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at [firstname.lastname@example.org].
