If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following workshop.
Energy Commission staff will conduct a Preliminary Staff Assessment workshop to discuss the proposed Cosumnes Power Plant as follows:
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2002
9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
California Energy Commission
901 P Street
4th Floor Conference Room
Leader: Kristy Chew
The purpose of this workshop is to receive comments on the technical analysis of the recently released Preliminary Staff Assessment. If necessary, these comments will be used to revise the Preliminary Staff Assessment and be incorporated into the Final Staff Assessment.
The Cosumnes Power Plant, proposed by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), would be a 1,000-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined cycle power plant located near the former Rancho Seco Nuclear Plant, 25 miles southeast of the City of Sacramento, in Sacramento County.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions during the workshop. Persons requiring information on how to participate in the Energy Commission's review of the proposed project should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Energy Commission's Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489 or toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org .
