Energy Commission Schedules Hearings and
Site Visit to Proposed Geothermal Power Plant

Sacramento - On Tuesday, November 19, members of the public and other interested parties will have an opportunity to learn more about a 185-megawatt geothermal power plant proposed by CE Obsidian Energy.

If approved, the Salton Sea Geothermal Project would be built on an 80-acre parcel located six miles northwest of Calipatria, within the unincorporated area of Imperial County.

Informational Hearing, &
Geothermal Resource Availability Hearing
When: November 19, 2002
Site Visit Begins at 12:00 p.m.
Where: Calipatria High School

The hearings will follow the site visit. Bus transportation will be provided from the hearing location to the proposed site. Land owners, members of the public, and governmental agencies are invited to participate.
