On Friday, January 24, members of the public and other interested parties will have an opportunity to learn more about a 250-megawatt power plant proposed by the Turlock Irrigation District.
If approved, the Walnut Energy Center project would be a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant constructed on an 18-acre site within a 69-acre parcel. The location is southeast of the intersection of West Main Street and Washington Road within the City of Turlock in Stanislaus County.
