If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following hearing.
The Committee overseeing the Application for Certification for the proposed Potrero Power Plant Project will hold an evidentiary hearing on the topic of Socioeconomic Resources on:
THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2003
Beginning at 10 a.m.
California Public Utilities Commission Auditorium
505 Van Ness Avenue
San Francisco, California
Evidentiary hearings are held to establish the factual record necessary to reach a decision in this case. This is accomplished by taking oral, written, or documentary evidence from the parties. Formal evidentiary hearings are more structured than Committee conferences or Staff workshops.
Mirant Potrero LLC, a direct subsidiary of Mirant Corporation, is seeking approval to construct Potrero Power Plant Unit 7 at the site of the current 360-megawatt Potrero Power Plant in San Francisco. Unit 7 would be a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle electric generating facility capable of producing 540 megawatts.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. Those who wish further information about how to participate should contact Roberta Mendonca, the Commission's Public Adviser, at (916) 654-4489, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at:
