If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following hearing.
The Committee overseeing the Application for Certification for the proposed Pico Power Project will hold an evidentiary hearing on the topics of biological resources, air quality and alternatives as follows
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11, 2003
Beginning at 9:00 a.m.
California Energy Commission
1516 Ninth Street
Passcode: PICO Call Leader: Gary Fay
Evidentiary hearings are held to establish the factual record necessary to reach a decision in this case. This is accomplished by taking oral, written, or documentary evidence from the parties. Formal evidentiary hearings are more structured than Committee conferences or staff workshops.
Proposed by the city of Santa Clara electric utility, Silicon Valley Power, the Pico Power Project is a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant with a generating capacity of 122 megawatts and the ability to peak fire to 147 megawatts. The facility would be built on 2.86 acres located north of Silicon Valley Power's Kifer Receiving Station in the City of Santa Clara
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments.
