If your publication, radio or television station offers a calendar of community events, you may want to include news of the following hearings.
The Committee overseeing the Application for Certification for the proposed Inland Empire Energy Center will hold evidentiary hearings as follows:
WEDNESDAY, JULY 30, 2003
Beginning at 1 p.m.
- and, if necessary-
THURSDAY, JULY 31, 2003
Beginning at 10 a.m.
Eastern Municipal Water District
2270 Trumble Road
Evidentiary hearings are held to establish the factual record necessary to reach a decision in this case. This is accomplished by taking oral, written, or documentary evidence from the parties. Formal evidentiary hearings are more structured than Committee conferences or Staff workshops.
The Inland Empire Energy Center is proposed by Inland Energy Center LLC, a direct subsidiary of Calpine. The project would include a 670-megawatt, natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant to be located in Romoland in Riverside County, between the cities of Perris and Hemet.
Members of the public and other interested agencies are invited to participate and provide comments. For information about how to participate, contact Roberta Mendonca, the Commission's Public Adviser, toll free in California at (800) 822-6228, or by email at:
